Vrbenské rybníky (Vrbno Ponds) - Hiking for everyone

Within approximately 6 km driving distance northwest of the centre of České Budějovice there is the Vrbenské rybníky nature reserve. The 246 ha reserve is unique for its rich fauna and flora. 4 large ponds and extensive areas of adjacent wetlands and meadows provide excellent conditions for waterfowl, for nesting, but also as a stopover point on their way to their wintering grounds. You can observe fauna and flora from the new bird observatory. You can find the exact location here 👉https://mapy.cz/s/luvubulela

The site is also interesting as it is home to a large number of butterfly species, which are not found anywhere else in the Czech Republic. The nature trail with a length of approx. 4 km and 10 stops, which takes us along the ponds and brings us closer to the life of local animals and plants, is also suitable for wheelchair users. A popular brewery stop for walking and cycling trips near Vrbenské Ponds is the microbrewery complex.

Nature lovers can now play a fun and informative game while walking through the app Birds of Vrbenské Ponds. The user-intuitive app is a free download on Google Play, link: https://1url.cz/HK0PB, for iOS here.
