Information Centre is celebrating its 30th anniversary

The České Budějovice Tourist Information Centre is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The celebrations will take place from 24 to 31 October 2026 as part of Tourist Information Centre Week and will feature a discovery trail through the city, guided walks and the chance to learn about the history of the information centre.

Discover the city with your eyes wide open

The discovery trail entitled ‘With your eyes wide open, or: here are the lions!’ invites explorers of all ages to take a stroll through České Budějovice. Armed with a worksheet, you’ll set off to find answers to questions, explore well-known and lesser-known corners of the city, and discover lions that you might otherwise overlook on a normal stroll.

Worksheets are available at the tourist information centre. Upon completing the trail, participants can roll a coloured dice for a prize and receive a certificate with a stamp. The trail can be completed independently from 24 to 31 October, free of charge and without a booking. Those who prefer to explore in a group can also set off on the route with a guide.

Dates of guided walks:

• Tuesday 27 October at 10:00
• Thursday 29 October at 15:00

Take a peek behind the scenes at the information centre

How has the work of the tourist information centre changed over three decades, and how many interesting stories lie behind its day-to-day operations? This will be explored during short guided tours, during which you’ll learn more about the history of the information centre, its activities and some interesting statistics. There’ll also be a display of historical materials, such as visitors’ books and old calendars.

Tour dates for the information centre:

• Monday 26 October at 3.00 pm
• Friday 30 October at 10.00 am

The tours are free, but booking via CBsystem is required.

Tourist Information Centre Week is an opportunity to get to know České Budějovice from a slightly different perspective, whilst also gaining an insight into the work of the people who help visitors discover the city. The Tourist Information Centre will also be providing its usual services throughout the week.
